Terms of Business of:Gateway Insurance & Investmetns (G.I.I.)

The terms of business set out below provides the basis on which Revoclife Ltd T/as Gatweay Insurance & Investments. will provide business services to you as a client of the firm. Should you have any queries we will be happy to deal with them.
- G.I.I.; is authorized and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland as an Authorised Advisor.
- G.I.I.; trade with authorized product producers only, but in doing so cannot guarantee the continuing solvency of said product producers nor can we be held responsible for the insolvency of any such product producer.
- G.I.I.; is authorized to offer broad-based investment advice. This includes advice on life assurance policies, serious illness and other protection policies, pension policies and other related retirement policies, savings and investment life assurance policies.
- G.I.I.; is authorized to offer broad based insurance advice including property, motor, livestock, liability, marine, aircraft, home, guarantee and all related non-life insurance.
- G.I.I.; is a deposit broker.
- G.I.I.; is authorized to receive and transmit orders on your behalf to product producers from which it has received a written letter of appointment.
- G.I.I.; arrange insurance in accordance with information received. It is important to ensure that all information provided is correct. Failure to disclose material information could invalidate your insurance.
- G.I.I.; is remunerated by both commission fees and fees for non-life insurance arrangements and may in certain classes of business charge an arrangement/alteration fee(brokerage). This brokerage fee is in addition to normal commission (if any) paid by the Insurance Provider. The following are the brokerage fees payable; House – up to €50, Motor- up to €75, Non Personal Lines- up to 10% of Gross Premium. In the case of non Commission Insurance Companies the Fee is increased up to 25%. All cancellations / credits / adjustments resulting in a return are subject to up to a 25% charge.
- G.I.I.; confirm policy refunds or credit(s) will be applied to the credit of the client account. If utilisation of credit account is not envisaged a remittance in settlement
- G.I.I.; is remunerated by commission or fee for arranging and/or the provision of advice regarding life, pensions etc. Fees are charged on a time spent and disbursement basis. Our current basic hourly rate is €150 for directors, Consultants, and €75 for support staff. In determining the rate and any additional charges, factors such as specialist’s skills, complexity, value risk and urgency will be taken into account. The rate of fees charged will be consistent with the industry average.
- G.I.I.; policy is to avoid any conflict of interest when providing business services to its client. However, should an unavoidable conflict arise we will advise you of this in writing before proceeding to provide any business service. If you have not been advised of any such conflict you are entitled to assume that none arises.
- G.I.I.; is a member of the Investor Compensation Scheme, which provides certain remedies to eligible clients in the event of default by the firm. The main details of the operation and conditions of the scheme are in accordance with the “Investor Compensation Act 1998”,
- G.I.I.; is bonded through its membership of IBA for €250,000 with an inner limit of €100,000 per client up to certain maxima.
- G.I.I.; will if necessary exercise its legal rights to receive payments due to it from clients for business services provided by the firm. Details of the effect of any default on payments due under any products arranged for your benefit will be included in the product producers’ relevant policy terms and conditions.
- It is our policy to ensure that all complaints will be dealt with by a member of staff with the knowledge and experience to deal with the matter promptly and fairly. If you have any complaint in relation to the financial services that we provide you should contact us and outline the nature of your complaint. We endeavour to reply to all complaints within the 20 day timeline as outlined within the Consumer Protection Code. If you are not happy with the response you receive from us and wish to escalate the complaint you may refer your complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman’s Bureau, 3rd Floor Lincoln House, Lincoln Place, Dublin 2. - G.I.I.; undertakes its activities in accordance with the laws of Republic of Ireland and any dispute will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland.
